Craig R. Brooks DVM

Dr. Brooks was raised in the Central Valley of California in the Apricot Capital of the World, Patterson.  His family farmed (you guessed it) Apricots and he had the privilege of  growing up with many different animal on the farm.  He was an avid FFA member and enjoyed caring for and showing animals.  His desire to become a Veterinarian came in Jr. High, and with hard work and perseverance he realized that dream when he graduated from UC Davis in 1986 as a Veterinarian. 

Dr. Brooks has practiced Equine Medicine his entire tenure as a veterinarian.  He owned and operated a mobile veterinary practice for the first 10 years. After that he opened Taylor Veterinary Hospital in 1996, building a full in-house Equine and Small Animal hospital facility.  Now able to provide the quality veterinary medicine he so desired in the setting of a full service hospital. 

Dr. Brooks and his wife Samantha have been married for over 22 years and have 5 wonderful children.  His Faith and Family, he would tell you, are the two most important things in his life.   Horses and caring for them will however take a close 3rd.   

Freya Stein DVM

Dr. Freya Stein joined Taylor Equine Hospital in November of 2010.  She grew up in Minnesota and continued her education at the University of Minnesota graduating in 2008 with her Doctorate in Veterinary Medicine.  She completed an internship at Bend Equine Medical Center in Oregon during 2008-2009, before heading down to California. 

Dr. Stein is a true animal lover and shows it daily with her kindness and compassion to all four legged creatures.  She enjoys horseback riding, hiking and camping and spending as much time with her two dogs, Haley and Nola.  

Allison McMahon BSc, BVMS

Dr. Allison McMahon was born and raised in Australia.  She graduated from Murdoch University in Australia in 2009 with a Veterinary Degree, then decided to come to California and become licensed to practice here in the U.S.A.  She has been working here at Taylor Equine Hospital since 2010. 

Dr. McMahon shows her love for horses daily in how she interacts and treats the horses themselves, and also in how well she connects with the clients, creating a great client/patient bond.
